About
Welcome to Sunrise Cafe Carmel, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Carmel, Indiana. Located conveniently at 11711 N Meridian St #140, this charming café might be found at the base of a business building, but don’t let that deter you; the culinary delights within are worth the search.
As I stepped inside, I was enveloped by an inviting ambiance that flawlessly blends chic elegance with a cozy atmosphere. The soft, muted tones set a relaxing tone, perfect for enjoying a leisurely breakfast or brunch with friends and family. What truly stands out at Sunrise Cafe is the commitment to quality and service. The staff exude warmth and attentiveness, ensuring your coffee cup never runs dry—a detail highly praised by patrons like Josh Mercurio.
The menu is a treasure chest of enticing options, and judging by the reviews, the dishes live up to their expectations. From the spot-on Eggs Benedict Florentine to the thin, crepe-like pancakes that have patrons raving, it’s clear each dish is crafted with care. David “ComeOnDave” Roddy was particularly fond of the breakfast wrap, which he enjoyed made western omelette style, topped with fresh salsa and premium sour cream. The attention to detail in preparing food to individual preferences, like perfectly crispy bacon, enhances the overall experience and showcases their culinary expertise.
Not only is the food impressive, but the customer reviews highlight the café’s commitment to cleanliness and timely service, making it an excellent spot for a quick morning bite or an indulgent weekend brunch. I recommend trying the biscuits and gravy or the comforting hash browns, which, despite being labeled as average by one reviewer, hold a nostalgic place in many hearts, myself included.
In a world where larger corporate chains often overshadow small businesses, it's refreshing to find a place like Sunrise Cafe Carmel, where community support and exceptional service intertwine. As Grace Lucka expressed, it’s an experience that leaves you eager to return, fostering a local culinary culture that deserves recognition. So why wait? Treat yourself to a delightful meal at Sunrise Cafe Carmel, where every bite feels like a warm embrace.

“ amazing! Will be back. Loved the food and environment. Got us in right before close. co-support the small business. ”
“ Do not let the location deter you from this place. Although located in the bottom of a business building, the food is incredible, service was timely, and our waitress didn’t let a cup or mug go unfillled. Food was excellent. Eggs Benedict florentine was spot on, and hash brown were perfect. My teenage son devoured his combo plate and loved the huge, thin pancakes. 5 stars! Highly recommended!! ”
“ Sunrise Cafe is a little out of the way in a business center building but it is well worth finding. The cafe itself is chic and elegant, a little dark, a little muted, and the service was top notch. I had the classic eggs Benedict which was delicious. My kids had the biscuits and gravy and hash browns, which they said were average. The coffee was good, the service was good, the price was pretty well matched to the food. We will definitely come back again, I would like to try the crepes and the pancakes. ”
“ The breakfast wrap was yummy! Had it made western omelette style. Salsa was fresh, sour cream was premium, and best of all, the table was nice and clean when we sat down. Sometimes restaurants tables are sticky... ugh gross. ”
“ Always excellent service and perfectly prepared food. Bacon cooked to 3 levels !! I ask for crispy and it’s crispy. The pancakes are thin , near crepes , not common in these here parts. One of my favorite aspects , when your food is done , a dedicated food delivery person brings it directly to your table. No waiting on a busy server or missed on the countertop. The entrance is around back , bottom floor of an office building. Shucks , I’m ready to go back again..... ”
“ I rate a five star because...first compliments too the Chef. The food was A-1 lemon waffle never had that before it was top tier. The customer service were very kind to us. Atmosphere was friendly vibe. I recommend this restaurant to give a hard try. ”
“ Well let’s get this straight...this restaurant is a classic and really doesn’t need another five-star review, but here we go... Every time I dine at Sunrise Cafe, there’s a personable greeting, usually from Jack—who always gives me the table I want and reassures me that I can still order breakfast even though it is 10:59! (Note: the lunch menu starts at 11:00 and includes some breakfast items.) Today, my server was Becca, she was literally perfect. She made great suggestions. She was very attentive, but not overly attentive. She was always smiling and very personable. Becca’s recommendation was something I had overlooked on the menu and it was delicious! I ordered the bagel with over easy eggs, plus hashbrowns, crispy bacon, and you guessed it a side of French toast! If you’re a solo traveler, writer, or working remote...if you’re a big party or a family with kids...it doesn’t really matter this staple in Carmel, Indiana, is a must try for breakfast or brunch. This eatery’s location—in the middle of the Caramel business district—makes it perfect for business meetings. There’s plenty of space and the ambiance is uniquely Indiana. You will see pictures of the Pacers, the Colts and even images honoring public servants. In addition to the open seating areas, some dim discrete corners are also available for those events requiring more privacy. The food is always delicious. And the service is exceptional...Owners Lisa and Jim are there pretty much every day to make sure your expectations are exceeded! Thank you so much everyone at sunrise Cafe for the years of service you’ve given to the city of Carmel! And thanks for my great breakfast! Becca’s service motivated this review! Thanks again everyone at Sunrise Cafe! ”
“ Loved the sausage gravy!! It came as a side of the chicken and waffles and was delicious! The whipped maple butter on the perfect French toast was a lot but I just scraped it to the side and used what I wanted but it was VERY good. We were there on a Thursday morning around 830 and the service was wonderful. Only about 5 other tables were occupied at that time. ”
